The purity of gold is expressed in term "carat ". 24 carat / 24k gold with a purity of 999.9 is pure gold without another metal or element. Pure gold has a soft texture and to use at jewelry production it is mixed with different metals that increases the hardness.
Additional metal ratio determines the carat of gold. 22k gold contains 24/22; 18k gold contains 24/18, 14k gold contains 24/14, 8k gold contains 24/8 percent pure gold .
Addition of silver to gives green color to gold. Addition of nickel and platinum gives white, zinc gives yellow,
and copper gives ranging from yellow to red color by the amount of addition.
In case of weighted complementary metal is silver the gold color named as green gold (yellow gold). If cooper is weighted complementary metal, the gold named as Red gold ( Rosa). Addition of various metals has color close to white is used for the gold named white color gold. White gold has a dirty white color at the end of production, and become white by rhodium coating.

The weight of diamond is "carat". One karat = 0,2 gram and one karat equals 100 points.
All diamonds have traces of their growth history. In gem-quality diamonds, this concerns minute internal and external characteristics, graded under Clarity.
Most diamonds are colorless to slightly yellowish. The color grade is determined by comparison with a series of master-stones, the best grade being colorless (D, exceptional white +)
Fire, brilliancy and scintillation of a diamond are largely determined by the proportions of various parts of the stone. Finish grade mainly evaluates the symmetry.
Diamonds can be cut in various shapes. The round brilliant is probably the best known shape.
The clarity scale reflects the size, number, location and visibility of the characteristics when examined with a 10 X magnifying loupe. The very best - and rarest - clarity is loupe clean. Most inclusions, however, are not visible to the naked eye. Diamonds that have no inclusions visible to the unaided eye are also of excellent value.
Diamonds can also occur in all sorts of colors, ranging from brownish to striking yellows, pink to purple, red and blue. These are called "fancy colors". Certain diamonds can react to "black light" with grades varying from nil-slight-medium to strong. Besides color, the fluorescence of the diamond is also graded.
